Writing the Memoir Proposal

Session

Description

Memoirs sell with proposals–whether or not you've already written the book. From your proposal, agents and publishers evaluate your idea, platform and writing. In this workshop, learn proposal style and format, craft about 30% of a proposal for the book you've written or want to write, and leave with a template for the rest.

We’ll discuss platform-building with essays, articles, and social media; determine whether you’re telling the right story from the right place; and develop an outline to write the next draft–or start the first one!

Requires some advance preparation; you'll receive an email after registration.

Note: Pre-conference workshops require additional registration. Workshops are Friday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include a refreshment break. Price $89.00
