Our Opening Session is divded into two parts: A welcome and conference orientation, followed by an opening reception, downstairs, at Commons on Vine. Here's a closer look:
4 to 4:30 p.m. - Welcome & Orientation (Heritage C)
Get a preview of the sessions, panels and other nuts-and-bolts information to help you plot your schedule and, gosh darn it, get you excited for the evening and next two and a half days! You'll also hear from a few past HippoCamp attendees on how they made the most of the conference and some might even share some success stories that happened as a result of our creative nonfiction conference!
4:45 to 6 p.m. - Opening Reception (Commons on Vine)
Meet and mingle with old and new friends while enjoying a big spread of appetizers and snacks, including sliders and our famous mashed potato martinis. For returning attendees, please note the new (larger) location this year.
